Walyalup WATERS

Through double-exposure photographic manipulation I have created compositions in which a shared sense of liminality between the female body and underwater realm is emphasised by the boundary of figuration and abstraction. The resulting painted female/underwater hybrids depicted are in an ambiguous, perpetual state of emergence, rebirth, or transformation, intertwined with notions of maritime mythology and superstition.
